There is nothing written on this photo. I assume that it is contemporaneous with the Philippine - American War photos about 1907. Looking into these faces, I see some hard lives.Most of us are better off now - but in many parts of the world, I don't think 100 years has brought much if any benefit.

I think this must have been a stock photo from the time, provided to soldiers. This is one of several with similar appearance.
