The Wachenheim family lineage is listed below, as given to me. Some is limited to names and dates. I'll also try, another time, to add a matrilineal approach, but the available information is much more limited. Much of this information was compiled by Maxine Wachenheim, through census or public records, gravestones, obituaries, and family records.
Anton Wachenheim
Born Sept 1, 1714 in Ringsheim Germany. He married Anna Marie Bittel, no other information available on her. They had a son, Basilius Wachenheim.
Basilius Wachenheim born Oct 27,1766 in Reingsheim Germany. (I'm thinking this is really Ringsheim - no Reingsheim shows up on a google search, and Ringsheim is in the Baden-Württemberg state as indicated in family documents). He married Franziska Kollifrat, no other information available on her. Their son was named Anton Wachenheim.
Anton Wachenheim born Oct 9, 1791, Ringsheim Germany, died Feb 6, 1834. He married Anna Weber, born Dec 19, 1796, Ringsheim Germany, died Aug 6, 1879 also in Reingsheim.
Here are a few links about Ringsheim and Baden: Some current tourist info here. A brief Wikipedia history of Baden-Württemberg, which contains Ringsheim, here. A longer history of Baden, also in Wikipedia, is given here.
Anton and Anna were the parents of Ambrose Wachenheim born Sept 8, 1833 or 1834, Ringsheim Germany, died 1895 or 1896 in St. Louis. He emigrated to the US in 1865, and eventually settled in St. Louis. He was a stonemason by trade. He married Rosa Mutschler, also born in Ringsheim Germany Sept 19, 1832 or 1835. She died 1913, probably in St. Louis.
Ambrose and Rosa were the parents of Adolph (Adam) Wachenheim.
Adam Wachenheim was born Aug 8, 1857 in Baden Germany. He emigrated to the US in 1867 and eventually settled in Quincy Illinois. He was butcher by trade. He married Anna Maria Fredericker Schuerfeld, born Oct 13,1860 in Quincy Illinois. She died Dec 26, 1938 in Quincy Illinois.
Adam had siblings Fred and Anna, who lived in St. Louis. I don't yet know their fates or whether they had children. The names, Lena, and Henry fit in somewhere, either as uncle and aunt, or as cousins.
The names Rose/Rosa and Anne/Annie come up frequently in the family lineage. It can be confusing.
Adam and Anna were the parents of Rosa, Henry, Thelma, Thane, Alice, Lorenzo (Lawrence Sr), and others. Of these, only Rosa, Alice, Thelma and Lawrence Sr. survived childhood. only Lawrence Sr. was known to be a parent.
Lorenzo Edwin Wachenheim was born April 22, 1888 in Quincy Illinois. He was a military veteran, having served in the Philipine-American War. He tried homesteading in Arkansas, but returned to Quincy Illinois and was a railway porter for the Quincy-Burlington line. He married Anna Henrietta Herrmann. She was born April 3, 1892 in Quincy Illinois and died dec 28, 1956 in Quincy Illinois. Lawrence Sr. died Oct 21, 1976 in Quincy Illinois.
The sons of Lawrence and Anna were Wadsworth Herrmann, Lawrence Edwin, and Arnold Lee.
